Glen Luckman Strategies to Help Your Business  By Ivette Matos

All business have been impacted by the economy in the last 2 years. Businesses have gone bankrupt; have had to layoff employees, cut back on productivity and much more. Small businesses are the ones that have been most impacted by this economy. They are forced to run their own office with out administrative help, therefore, loosing time and not being able to focus on the core of their business, to make it grow.

As we listen to the news, the economy is not getting better; the Dept. of Labor has been reporting that there is a huge rise in unemployment in the last year alone. Here are 3 strategies a small business can implement, to help them keep their business going:

1. Assess what needs to be taken care of administratively – Such as, answering phones, answering emails, creating and editing documents, sending out newsletters, updating social media site or making travel arrangements.
2. Calculate if you really can afford to have an on-site assistant.
3. Consider hiring a virtual assistant.

Let’s concentrate on strategy number 3. First of all what is a virtual assistant (VA)? A virtual assistant is an entrepreneur and professional that dedicates hours in helping business keep afloat but everything is done virtually.
VAs can answer your emails, schedule appointments, create and edit documents, make travel arrangements, send out your newsletters, send email blasts, help with marketing and a number of other tasks from an off-shore location. They communicate with you on a daily basis or as many times as you need, they use the latest technology to help your business. Some of the technologies used are:

• Communicating via email, instant messages and phone
• Use online back up systems to ensure that data is safe and available

VAs cost less to hire than having an on-site employee, you do not have to pay for benefits, office supplies and everything associated with maintaining an on-site employee. In today’s struggling economy, businesses need to explore how they can keep their business afloat and keep organized. Many are looking at to hire VA as they will be able to save money and time. By using these 3 strategies, you will be able to continue growing your business in light of today’s economy.
